Songs We Learn from Trees, the first anthology of Ethiopian Amharic poetry in English, shortlisted for the 2021 Glenna Luschei Prize for African Poetry, is being launched in a series of celebratory performances around the UK, featuring Kebedech TEKLEAB, Mihret KEBEDE,, Misrak TERFE, Hama TUMA, Bedilu WAKJIRA and Alemu TEBEJE, plus editor/translator Christ BECKETT. We will be in Leeds for a free event at the Workshop Theatre on Monday 9th of May.
